Di un insieme di oggetti in argento, giunti al Metropolitan Museum circa 20 anni fa, viene condotta una completa descrizione, così da rendere note anche le epigrafi su di essi apposte. L'analisi delle condizioni di conservazione, delle iscrizioni, dei pesi, delle caratteristiche produttive e decorative fa dedurre che l'insieme è composto da oggetti di produzione e cronologia differenti fra loro. Essi sono stati sicuramente utilizzati nella Sicilia sud-occidentale e, con molta probabilità, sepolti a Morgantina entro la fine del III secolo a.C.

A group of antique silverware in New York

A complete description, including a transcription of their inscriptions, is offered of a group of silver artefacts, which entered the Metropolitan Museum in New York some twenty years ago. From an analysis of their state of conservation, inscriptions, weight, manufacturing and decorative characteristics the author deduces that this group of silverware is composed of objects of various production and date. They were undoubtedly used in southwestern Sicily and, in all probability, buried at Morgantina before the end of the 3rd century BC.
