L’acquisto di un lotto di quadri di scuole straniere da parte di Camillo Pamphilj junior, attestato da un documento del 1722 conservato presso l’Archivio Doria Pamphilj di Roma, consente di constatare la veridicità di quell'atto, trattandosi di opere tuttora esistenti nella collezione romana. L’elenco viene esaminato in rapporto ai quadri di cui il principe era in possesso, ai prezzi pagati per l’acquisto dei dipinti e alle attribuzioni allora proposte, allargando il discorso ad altre opere da lui comperate in diverse occasioni.
